Who are A Spot of Luxury and why should I trust you?
A Spot of Luxury is a brand new limited company, created by Paul Roome and Peter Biddle, and is about bringing back some fun and excitement into life, not only offering the opportunity to win luxury holidays in far away places, and supercars that previously could only have been dreamt of, but the chance to win fantastic luxury life changing items, worth thousands of pounds on a regular basis. We understand that trust has to be earned, and therefore we have engaged the services of top solicitors and accountants, in order to ensure not only that our competitions comply with all relevant legal requirements, but also that the competition rules are as simple and easy to follow as we can make them. How do I enter the competitions?
Choose which competition that you would like to enter. Click the Enter button. You will be asked to answer a question, which involves using either knowledge or skill and judgment or sometimes a combination of both. Enter your answer in the box, then select how many entries that you would like to purchase. Then click Continue. You will be taken to a “first time users”, registration page, (as we will need your contact details, to give you the good news!). You must enter information in all boxes, and tick to say that you have read and understand the rules. Then click Buy. Here, you can choose your preferred method of payment to pay for your entries. After paying for your entries you will receive a confirmation email, containing the competition details and your entry numbers etc. Good luck!
Depending on which competition you enter, ticket prices are £2, £5 and £25.
Why do I have to answer difficult questions to enter the competitions?
The questions that we ask, are designed to ensure that they constitute a genuine test of either knowledge or skill and judgment or sometimes a combination of both and as such are lawful having regard to the provisions of the Gambling Act 2005. However, we are also working towards the use of other kinds of mechanic in order to ensure more fun and variety for our customers.
Who chooses the prizes that can be won?
We do - the world is full of exclusive, exciting and expensive luxury items that we could only ever dream of owning - we started A Spot of Luxury to give you the opportunity of making your dreams a reality. We have hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of prizes, planned for our coming competitions, but if you would like to suggest your dream prize, email us at info@aspotofluxury.co.uk and who knows, that prize could be yours.
Can I have a cash alternative to the prize?
A cash alternative to the Prize, may be available at the discretion of A Spot of Luxury Ltd.
Where can I enter the competitions?
At present, you can only enter our competitions online at www.aspotofluxury.co.uk but we are working towards other methods of participating, for the very near future.
Will the winner get the prize even if you do not receive enough entries?
In the unlikely event that we didn't receive a minimum number of entries to cover the cost of the prize, the prize would become a cash prize, based on 70% of the number of entries made.
Are there any special offers for buying more than one ticket?
Yes - as an introductory special promotion, we are offering you 1 free chance at winning if you buy 3 tickets.
Buy 3 - get 1 free, Buy 6 - get 2 free, Buy 9 - get 3 free and so on.
Where are all the fees kept? Are they safe?
Naturally, A Spot of Luxury regards the preservation of the security of the monies it receives from participants as being of paramount importance, and with this in mind arrangements have been made with established and reputable organisations for the processing and banking of all entry fees to the competition which we receive.
Are you profiting from the interest earned from the entry fees?
No - any interest on proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the monthly donations that we make to registered charities.
How do you choose which charity you are going to donate to?
As with our choice of prizes, we use care and consideration in selecting charities for donations. We chose County Air Ambulances across the United Kingdom this year, as they provide an invaluable, irreplaceable service that everyone in the UK could benefit from at some time. Air Ambulance relies entirely on donations to keep their helicopters flying. If you would like to suggest a registered charity for our consideration, please email us at info@aspotofluxury.co.uk
Each of our competitions have individual timers, which count down to the end of the competitions. If you are in the process of submitting an entry when the competition closes, you will be given five minutes grace to complete your entry.
How are the competitions judged?
All correct entries go into a Random Number Generators (RNG), which produces the number of the winning ticket. It also produces two more ticket numbers, which are used as first reserve and second reserve, in case we are unable to contact the winner, or the winner fails to accept the prize, within a 90-day period from date of the draw.
When are the results announced?
Winners are informed by telephone and written confirmation soon after the draw. Results will also be displayed on the 'Past Winners' page of our website, within two weeks of the prize being accepted by the winner.
How will I find out if I've won?
We will contact you using the details entered during your registration with A Spot of Luxury Ltd.
If I win the house, how long will it be until the completion date?
We shall instruct our solicitors to begin the conveyancing process as soon as the winner has accepted the prize and has provided us with the name of his or her solicitors. We shall do all that we can to ensure that our solicitors complete the transfer of the house to the winner as soon as possible, but because of a variety of factors, not all within our control, can affect the timescale it is not possible to state with any certainty how long the process will take, and indeed to some extent this will depend on the winner instructing his or her solicitors promptly. The winner will be responsible for choosing his or her own solicitor, and A Spot of Luxury will pay the winner's legal costs up to a maximum of £1500.00 plus Stamp Duty.
May I be present for the draw?
It wouldn't be feasible to invite everyone that asked, to the draws, however, for some draws, we shall pick random ticket holders to receive an invitation to attend the draw.
